Anyone got problem with their Deep Impact when using other power source instead of original adapter?

You'll have to be a bit more specific about the "problem", however my first guess would be that the PSU you are using is not giving enough juice to the akai and you need to use the original (i'm guessing that the akai runs at more than 9v, but if it is a 9v pedal then it is likely a problem with the PSU).

It is a very common issue with the DI when using any other power supply than an Akai OEM power supply there are several symptoms most common is lights but no sound or it will engage a sound once and get stuck. There is apparently something particular about the unit and it has a very high power requirement.
OTOH the UniBass plays well with a common power supply.

I use a Godlyke PowerAll with my DI with no issues at all. If you can't find an original, maybe that would be an option.

It requires a 9v dc 180ma power supply. The original Akai MP-9 was the only power supply I had any luck with but i have seen that other have had luck with multi supplies like a 1spot but i never tried it.

I know the Deep Impact is discontinued, but a call or email to Akai tech support might get you a suggestion on what replacement power supply to try.

Sent the DI to VST for service back to few months ago... they said everything works well and with no problem at all... but they are testing that with the original adapter.

But I face same problem again... (engaged without sounding) what is the suitable power source for this thing?.........

feel frustrated........
