Akai headrush - what comes out the "head" outs in loop mode?

I am awaiting one of these in the post (Headrush E2). I can't wait for it to arrive and have been thinking about what I could do with it...

I've been considering the possible way-out weirdness of individually processing each head (pitch shifting alternate repeats a 5th or an octave, filtering some and distorting others??? sounds like a blast!). Anyone do this sort of thing with their headrush?

All this just made me wonder if the individual tape head outs mute during loop mode, or what. Anyone know???

Cheers,
Steve

Hmm... never tried it, curious though. If I think of it I'll give it a whirl tonight.

Ok... the answer is... NOTHING! At least, nothing out of heads 2,3&4. The head 1 output doubles as an "effect only" output, so you hear the loop, but not the live instrument sound. Whereas the "mix" output you get both the loop and the live instrument.

One thing that's cool about the tape echo is that you can prevent the sound from any of the tape heads from appearing at the "mix" output by plugging a jack into it's output. So, if you want to hear head 1,2 & 4, just plug a cable into head 3 and you won't hear it.

Cool,
Thanks for the info. I have next week off work and I'm desperately hoping it arrives today or tomorrow so I can spend the whole week playing with it!

Cheers,
Steve
