Need a rack mount compressor on a budget, can pick up either for around the £70 mark. Anyone got any experience with either?

I've still got a 3630 in my rack. It gets some bad press here and there, but I've found it to be well in the useable range of things. For the price (I picked mine up used for under 75 bucks) it's been great. I like it better than the Boss Limiter Enhancer pedal I had previously.

I haven't used it lately - been using the compressors on my GT-10B. It's been doing alright in my recording rack too.

I fully endorse the bad press the 3630 gets. It's OK at some tasks, but not bass. OTOH the Behringer rack unit I tested was pretty good-sounding. The construction "quality" is the same for both units.

Cheers both, I use a Hartke ha3500 head and although 99% of the head is outstanding the compressor would have been better off not being there.
