Thumbs up Alien Hate Fuzz soundclip!

Sign in to disble this ad
(click on this!)

hello there!

i play fingerstyle for the first segment and pickstyle for the second. each segment starts with an example of the clean tone. the Alien Hate Fuzz (this version, at least) only has one knob, labeled "HATRED." it's Fuzz and Volume all in one. i recorded the clip with the bass's volume dimed for the first riff, then i decreased it for each subsequent riff (the pickstyle segment is done the same way). you'll notice that the character changes quite nicely depending on your instrument's volume.

68 jazz - Alien Hate Fuzz - M-Audio Profire 610.

let me know what you think, and let me know if you'd like to hear something i didn't cover in the clip.

I think I hate you for this thread! I love the sounds you are getting with that, but I need to hear it with flats to be sure.

Oh this is pretty cool. I was kind of interested in this pedal when I began my quest for fuzz (which I'm slowly starting to accept won't ever end. Ever.) It's an interesting sound, but not for me.

I'd also love to hear clips of the Black Hole Generator, which randomly goes from an octave up and an octave down.

1st Pickstyle is filthy....I like it!!!!

I wondered what that Hatred was on your board.

The piece around 2:20 on is tasty too.

Can we hear it with your Stingray to get an idea if it plays nicely with an Active Bass?

Nice job on the sound clips. A riff too!?!? Awesome. Don't know if I could use this sound in my band...still awesome.

that is a great sound; sort of like an overdriven pulse synth kind of a sound. definetly not a typical fuzz. really cool.

So you are using the pedal's knob for unity gain and then rolling off your bass volume? If so could you do a demo where your basses volume is set and you change the knob of the pedal.

Sounds like a Fuzz Face clone to me with a twist so you only have one knob.

i can, sure! thing is, the fuzz amount and character stays the same no matter where the knob is... it's mostly just a volume knob. but i'll do it!

Ah, okay. What I'm guessing they did was set the fuzz amount internally (instead of allowing you to change it) and then just use the volume as the only knob. They must have figured that Fuzz Face like pedals sound best when the fuzz is cranked.

According to Google, it's much easier to find and purchase an Alien Hate Fuzz thong or coffee mug than the actual pedal itself.

I listened to some other clips of this pedal on youtube (all guitars by the way), and the Alien Hate Fuzz sounded like a much more standard fuzz than it did in the clip The BurgerMeister recorded.
