All Barge Concepts pedal board / VFB-2

I've been drooling over their site all morning. It's like every pedal they make is exactly what I want.

Once I'm famous, and slightly rich, I want an all Barge board.

I think it would go something like

VFB-X loop --> MB-1 --> RC-3 --> BP-1 --> BB-1

If they made a phaser/tremelo I'd never need anything else.

Anyway, less fantasy and more reality, I just bought a VFB-2! I think it will be nice to switch out all my effects for a cleaner signal path, but I'm looking forward even more to the feedback looper.
Does the feedback control regulate the volume of the feedback loop? Or does it interact more with the loop changing the proportion of feedback?

The feedback loop is definitely a cool function, and really fun to see how it reacts with different effects. From what I gather, the feedback control is the amount of signal you are sending back into your chain, not necessarily volume, although the more signal you send back into creating the feedback loop, the louder and crazier it gets.

Yeah. It's not really a volume control, but the amount of signal fed back into the pedal. With certain effects, it can get wicked loud. With others it will give you interesting clipping or strange noises.

I'm definitely a fan of Barge Concepts, I just wish that their pedals weren't all so huge.

Thanks TheMutt. I got the pedal yesterday and it is fantastic. The feedback loop control does work pretty well as a volume all though that's not it's function. I find different pedals need different settings (generally between noon and full on) to get the most interesting reactions.
Interesting, some pedals are immune to the feedback loop - including my 3XFX Fatman (odd), and my Pulsar (makes sense, sort of).

In the product description, I think they use the word "unpredictable" to describe the feedback loop. This couldn't be any more dead on. Every pedal I have ever owned reacted differently through this, and as you say, some not at all. I think filters sound the coolest, simply because the feedback tends to add more movement and really "enhance" what the filter is already doing. But, I just got a Unibass pedal, and running feedback through this makes the upper octave sound just like steel drums.

Yeah, I'm excited to hear a ring mod through this once I finally get my hands on one.
So far the best reaction is from delays, as they just oscillate louder and louder, but on the note you played, and then trail off when you kick off the feedback loop.
