All Boss Pedals - Pedal order Question

Sign in to disble this ad
I know this has probably been covered many times---but I will ask for my scenario

What would be the suggested -or correct- order for the following pedals...

from my bass...into my boss tuner... and out of there, please suggest a good order for these to go in:

Boss Bass EQ
Boss Bass Overdrive
Boss Super Octave
Boss Bass Chorus

Suggestions AND comments are welcome and needed!
thanx!

personally I would go:

octave -> EQ -> overdrive -> chorus

I'm one of the few that like EQing in front of drive effects, to shape the overdrive or distortion.

You can move the EQ further toward the end.

most likely scenario is: octave -> overdrive -> EQ -> chorus

Try out yourself what works best.

I have no experience with the super octave. Here are my suggestions.

If the tracking on the super octave is good -

Overdrive - Chorus - Octave - EQ

If the tracking on the super octave is glitchy, or doesn't handle polyphony well -

Octave - Overdrive - Chorus - EQ

Regardless of the config, I'd always have the EQ last in the chain so that I could smooth out everything prior to it.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

For my setup I don't see the point of the EQ last in the chain, as my amp and rack gear does all the EQ I need.

Actually, that means that my EQ is last in the chain. Just not in pedal form.

I always liked a EQ pedal first in the chain, so the effects are shaped differently.
But I stepped away from that, overEQing my sound.
Now I EQ just my overall sound according to the room I am playing in.

Depends on your amp I guess. If your amp has limited EQ control than yes and EQ last in the chain can be a good idea.
