| | | | All-in-one practice box for bassist?
Sign in to disble this ad
Brethren,
I am looking for an all-in-one box that supports all my bass practice needs. I'd like it to have:
- metronome;
- tone generator (for practicing intonation on fretless);
- input for an iPod/CD player/etc.;
- earphones output;
- small size, batteries.
It could be a software thing, too (portability suffers, of course, but may have many more useful feaures).
Does such thing exist?
Thanks much in advance. |

But the Tascam Bass Trainer can do a lot of that stuff. It itself is an MP3 player that you can adjust the mix to with you bass plugged in so no need for a external mp3 player. It also has a line output that then could be plugged into a stereo for louder noise making. I use mine with a headset though. But on a long trip I did run the output into the vehicle's stereo and jammed while the SO was driving, keeping us both entertained.

Its hard to find something with the tone generator, but I'm seeing more of these headphone practice amps with mp3 input.

| | | | Aha! This one, indeed, is very close. But I'm not sure if it produces any pitch; sounds like it only has a reference A4 pitch. And it's only available for pre-orders now...
Thanks anyway! |

Thanks!
The MP-BT1 looks exactly like what I'm looking for, except for direct input from an mp3 source - but it has its own track storage anyway. Tone generator - it has "oscillator" mode, where it "emits any pitch in range C2-B4". Just wondering if flats and sharps are available...
Any good/bad/ugly feedback on this one? How is battery life? Can I use a regular battery instead of its own rechargeable one (sounds like I can just pull it out)? Is it worth getting an a/c adapter?

I can store a lot of MP3's and play with them..great for slowing down/enhancing bass lines to learn them and has lots of models / effects / etc. You can't get anything for the money that's a better investment than this imho.

I'm just wondering if the bass trainer and recorder is as good as those you get if you buy them seperately. Does anyone know? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
