For all you Chancellor nuts... (BR-2 reissue)

Sign in to disble this ad
Guyatone has just announced that they are reissuing the BR-2 in a limited 100-piece run (probably to drum up demand and see if it is viable to begin production anew). If I were still trying out envelope filters, I'd definitely have to give this one a try. Alas, I just don't play anything right now that calls for filter funky quack or deep resonant LPF.
Get yours here.

As always, I'm not paid by Godlyke/Guyatone... but I should be!

I just got Godlyke's mailer and was going to post about this as well. Bummer for people who overpaid for a used BR-2.

Not a versatile or funky filter but it whomps and as Justin Chancellor showed, it gets very aggressive sounding with dirt.

Hmm... that's a good point about the overpaying part. Honestly, I don't expect these to last very long... especially if those who wanted one but hated the ridiculous prices catch wind...

Now if only Akai (Deep Impact/UniBass anyone?) and DigiTech (Bass Whammy anyone?) would take the hint...

That would be supposing that only TB'ers are going to purchase these.

Sarcasm duly noted.
However, it's still highly likely that others outside the TalkBass community who received the exact same email that Jared and I received from Godlyke will be purchasing this pedal. Not to mention that I am sure that this has been posted to numerous other forums.

I got mine in the Classifieds for $100. I'm not much for the "relic" thing, so I guess I paid a little for the mojo.

The Little Black Monster isn't going anywhere. It's just entirely too much fun.

OC-3 > BR-2 in a clean-blended loop on an LS-2 > Rust Ride > Quick delay. Adjust knobs to desired insanity.

I'd be willing to bet you that there are enough JC fans between here and on Tooltabs to sell this thing out.

The folks here + the folks there + a few random people catching wind of it and they'll all be gone in no time.

I actually had an original one pass through my hands recently, and I did like it a lot. Not the sort of booty funk sound I'm after, but very cool and aggressive and attention-grabbing.
