Hey everybody, I'm looking to funkatize my bass sound a bit with an envelope filter, but I wanted to build one myself. I have some experience modifying pedals and have decent solder skills and understanding of circuits so I figured I'd start building some pedal projects. The Nurse Quacky
(http://www.home-wrecker.com/nurse-quacky.html) looks like a circuit that would be doable, and has a real wet sound that I like. I'd appreciate it if you guys had any thoughts on this circuit and ways to make it more bass friendly, or suggestions for other circuits that you've built that might work for me.

You could always change the values of the .0047 caps and see what you get. Also the .1 at the output, in other EF designs, this large of a vlaue tends to lower the output signal. You can try as small as a .001 on up to a .47.

But really its a nice simple design that you dont really have to do much.

Experiment and have fun!

Thanks Mike, just a quick bump to see if anyone has built this circuit.

Build a DOD 440 clone and change some of the caps to make it bass friendly. More info at the BYOC forums (they sell a kit), freestompboxes.org, diystompboxes.com, etc. Then you will basically have a Boomstick Bottom Feeder, which is a really popular filter round these parts - I have one and love it.

i built that ckt long ago...i made some changes, i think i changed the caps that put the sweep in a lower frequency range...if you do a search over at diystomp, you should find threads about making the nurse more bass friendly.

cheers,
lohstah

p.s. and if i can make a suggestion, try the agua over at tonepad, with bass mods. i finished mine some time ago, but now i finally boxed it up and it really shines as far as i can tell now...still have to use it at a rehearsal
