Alternate enclosures for DIY pedals

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I saw a pic of an effect built into a peanut can and thought: "I could go somewhere with that". I'm sure people have done it, but I'm thinking of using other enclosures instead of the usual ones. For example, an A/B might fit into an Altoids tin. I'm thinking of putting 2 completely different effects into this puppy:

Perhaps a Brass Master and a spring reverb. They'd be completely independent of each other -- even have separate inputs and outputs and I'd just use a jumper to figure out what order to put them in. Upside is that there'd be plenty of room for all the Brass Master wiring , etc.

Anyone ever do anything like this? I'd like to see some pics and maybe get some advice. Anyone know the best way to drill through this thin metal? Could I use the same battery (doubt it, but...)?

The working name? Why, "Master Frankenverb", of course!

It would sit as it does on your kitchen shelf and I'd probably weigh it down with something. Practical? Hardly. Fun and cool-looking (Esp. if I get a really cool paint job on it)? Surely!

I'm thinking of putting the ins/outs and LEDs on top, and the knobs on the side.

Is there any mass produced enclosures w/ an accessible battery compartment on the outside? All the available ones for DIY projects require the removal of four screws to change the battery, which is annoying.

BTW - awesome idea 23travis

Why not drill a hole for 9V DC power?

Batteries are evil!

But if you must, the whole point of DIY is to DIY
