Alternatives to a Sansamp Bassdriver DI?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I tried out one the Bassdrivers today, and while it was really cool, it seemed like my tone just kept getting lost, and it had too much clacking, no matter how i blended it.

Does anybody know any other pedals that can give me that full sound without these problems? Thanks!

I bought one, taking it back tomorrow.

For as much as I like the grind, a lot of the tones I've been managing to find with it are pretty one dimensional, and god forbid I want some solid mid-range...

Para Driver. If that doesn't give you solid midrange, you are doing it wrong.

The Para didn't work for me, either. The mids that it 'put back in' after you boost the mid knob sounded totally unnatural.

If you want something that does everything the SansAmp does, and more, but sounds 10000 times better (IMO), the EBS Microbass II is the answer.

It starts off with your bass's tone, and fattens and / or sparkles up as much as you like. A GREAT bit of kit.

Consider an MXR Blowtorch also. If you don't need a DI.

I have the BDDI and I like it. Guess it's not for everyone.

Are you looking for a DI, an EQ, or a tube amp emulator? Are you looking for something that can be transparent?

DI is not important, but its nice to have. I really want to keep most of the tone of my bass.

Check out an Electronix Submarine or Submarine Designer if you crave more control. I had several basses that were lacking here or there tone wise but the Submarine has made them all come alive.

Maybe a Sadowsky preamp DI?
