Ambient/Shoegazer Bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone here play ambient/shoegazer style bass material? Any material you can share? Also do you stay within your normal bass range or do you use an octaver up? Also anyone do any pad like stuff?

Yes.

Thick fuzz/reverb/delay with the level maxed

I have a mastotron but it doesn't seem very full to me. Just got a xxlb, but haven't had a chance to try it out.

It's fun to use my digitech pds-1002 as a mini looper for ambient background noises. It's not a very reliable pedal, but it's fun for noises when i'm not worried about keeping time. I just need a good OD (vt bass), because playing with all out fuzz all the time gets old sometimes.

Yes

jazz bass>bypass/feedback loop>VT Bass>Behringer BOD>Boss GEB-7>Zoom b2.1u>BOss RC-20XL>Bypas/feedback loop.

lots of droning with zoom's hold delay. Lots of noise with a looped riff into the feedback loop. Riding the lightning.

No pads, although i'm fancing a korg mini kaoss pad. and no octave up, but i use artificial armonics when i feel like it.

yes!

i go: Jazz Bass --> Morley ABY
i separate (A) for a clean (dry) tone with an OC-3--> And Aardvarks!
and the other signal (B) PS-3--> Line 6 M9

the PS-3 is on that crazy pitchshift reverse delay setting thats so sought after into the M9, which has a +1 pitchshift into the Particle Verb set on full Wet.

this gives me a crazy other-synth sound along with a solid, regular bass tone. i'll try to get a a sound clip up so you can hear what i mean...
