Kind of a different approach or request here.
Any Amp modeller type units out there that aren't necessarily effects oriented?
I'm now locked into an M13 for all my effects, eq'ing, etc, but there's times when I'd foolishly like a different overall character etc that can easily be accomplished via modelling.
However, I don't love the idea of lugging around an X3 live, Bass Pod XTLive, GT-10b, etc along side my M13.
Anything small, good sounding, and portable, yet appropriate for live gigging that I might be missing? |

Otherwise the SansAmp boxes are quite good and worth checking out.

I have to disagree with you on that. And, the simplicity and adaptability of the M13 for live use is way easier for my needs. It's doing everything I need and mroe effect wise. And I don't have to spend loads of time preprogramming specific patches like on units like the GT, etc. IMHO. |

run it into a tube amp.. tonal bliss. add my dirt and chorus as needed

I recommend both the behringer bdi-21 (sansamp clone, does very good ampeg-like tones but not really a modeller imho), and the bass v-amp (I use the bass v-amp pro now). lots of shockingly good amp/cab simulations, very few fx (and those that are there aren't in your way at all, a simple knob to set/forget/ignore them). behringer has imho mastered the ampeg emulations and the swr emulations on these things.
And while I actually prefer the bass amp/cab sims in these behringer products to the line 6 bass pod (all variations) that I've used, I would certainly take the line 6 build quality over the behringer build quality for gigging if that's an issue.
truly excellent for insanely cheap money.
I'm ready - go ahead and shoot :-) |

I liked the modelling and effects on it, but at last the unit I had was hissy as can be. It would sit and make breathing sounds even with no effects in a patch. Got rid of it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
