Amp EQ Dials vs EQ Band Pedal

So what do you suggest? I have a GK 700RB-II and im using it to replace my Behringer BXL450A.

I really love the slider EQ, but i'm sure i'll get used to the dials.

Anyways, I'm 14 so im on a LOW budget ($5 a week, with the occasional $5 daily for takng care aof a lady's house when she's gone.)

If I get straight A's (not happening, I suck at the trigonometry ) Then i get $20 a week (my dad matches my loan payment towards him plus 5)

Anyways, pointless story, is it worth the money on cables and the pedal to get a BOSS GEB-7 EQ?

yes, i put out a specific pedal.

And while you're at it, any suggestions for cables to chain them together when I get some?

Given the voicing filters and active EQ (4 band), the addition of an outboard graphic EQ is not necessary IMO....unless you're that displeased with the character of the GK.

Can't help you with cables. I use PlanetWave instrument cables and Rapco's for the patches because that's what was available.

I wouldn't think an eq pedal is needed here, at all. The amp's eq is plenty sufficient to get your tone where you want. Eq pedals are great for sort of adding a second channel, or instant change for solo's or whatever, but in this case, prolly just wasting your money. Save up for something you really want.
