Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Guys

I have an SVT3 Pro head and a Line6Bass Pod Pro in my rack...

Question I have is, Should I run th Line 6 through the effects loop, or through the front of the head?? Just lookin to use it for some different sound options.... What do you guys think?

front. effects loops on amps are useless, imho. never heard one that improved the sound of any effect, even those that should be run in a loop.

I think it depends what you're using the Pod for - amp sims or fx, and how you're using the SVT's preamp. If the SVT is pretty much clean and flat and you're using the pod for your tone, I'd run the pod into the front end. If it's driven and your using the pod for modulation effects I'd stick the POD in the loop.

Well I ran the POD into the front end--- and the Sound is considerably beefier that way.... and as long as I am not clipping the front end of the ampeg I should be OK right? With my P bass its rippin my face off. Not using any Cab Emulation. just using it for extra ass on passive axes mostly....

I agree - don't forget JimmyM - that in the Pod Manual it describes different configuration settings for how and where you have plugged the POD in. This makes a big difference to the sounds of the POD.

Sounds boring I know - but if you haven't already - look though the configuration details for how best to set up the Pod.

I have seen a good few people compalin that the Pod sounds crap, only to find that they have configured it as if it were plugged directly in to a studio desk or PA - but plugged in to their bass rig instead.
