I suppose I should list what pedals I used in that demo. I'm not one of those "secret fishing spot" kind of people, so I don't mind sharing. Here they are in no specific order:
  • Ampeg Sub-Blaster
  • EHX Bass Big Muff
  • EHX Bassballs
  • Boss PH-3 Phaser
  • Tech 21 SansAmp PBDI

I've always enjoyed running the Bassballs into the Big Muff [hey nowwww!!!]. It gives the fuzz a very weird character.

Error Correction:

Just got a PM about my choice of enclosure by a person looking to do the same. I posted that I used a 1590MBK which is incorrect; I used a 1550MBK.

Wiring the LED

I'm about to attempt to add an LED on to my friend's sub blaster and I was wondering if you could give me a little more info and close up pictures of how exactly you wired that and what resistor you used. I know I need a 3PDT switch, will I need any other parts besides some wire? What kind of wire should I buy? I've repaired pedals before with exclusive success so I'm trying to take on more adventurous projects. Excellent job on the rehouse by the way, I personally think your new version is much prettier than the original.

Thanks,
Kev

I detailed that addition on my blog way back in June 2008. Here's the link.

As for the resistor value, I probably used a 4.7K for a blue 5MM LED. Depending on the brightness you're looking for, you could change the value to dim it if needed. Any old wire will work (stranded or solid; I used 22AWG solid for mine). Let me know if you have any other questions.

The recent question made me realize I forgot to post the finished product. Here it is.

I purchased some cool black and silver top hat knobs, but the small black triangle pointer on the silver was nearly impossible to see. Only yesterday did I receive the new silver chicken head knobs. They're sweet for a couple reasons; there's no mistaking their location and they're easy to move with my foot (as I have a bad habit of doing).
