If you can't find one the Tech21 VT Bass or Catalinbread SFT both do an excellent job at replicating the SVT tone.

Do you mean the Scrambler? They did a reissue a few years ago, but they've been discontinued again. There are some companies still doing some good clones of them, though.

Check out the Swell thread, too. They're coming out with the B-Peg and it's going to go for that sound. The whole last page is about it.

If you are talking about the SVT-DI, those have definitely been discontinued for a long time. I sold one recently, they pop up on ebay every now and again.

If you cant find an SVT DI, there are lots of other tube-driven or tube-emulating DI's out there. The choice depends on (a) your budget, and (b) whether you are after cleaner or more overdriven SVT-like sounds.

Exar's business is on hold for now. I will still help previous customers.

How much of the SVT classic sounds are coming from the 8x10 "fridge" speaker cabinet? How closely can a pedal replicate that, and of course it's going to depend on what kind of amp/speakers the pedal is going through.

What would be a good/best pedal to get the oldschool dirty (think Yes, or early Rush) sound using a Rickenbacker 4003 and Eden head through a pair of Markbass 2x10s? The Markbass cabs are ported so they're never going to be as punchy/snappy as a fridge but they are alright for lightweight cabs.

The goal is to get as close as possible to that sound with a small lighweight rig.
