Analog signal path, digital control

I've always thought this would be the perfect effects solution. An analog signal path that can be controlled digitally. So rather than an A/D/A system and digital effects, you simply use the digital to operate the controls of an analog circuit. So the tonal quality of an analog pedal, with the versatility and quick-change of a digital setup.

So far, I've only seen a single example of this by Vintage Revolution. It's designed for guitar, rackmounted, has 14 effects, and costs a LOT of money.

Anyone heard of other effect makers using a similar methodology for an analog multi-effect pedal?

I've heard that too, at least for the programmable units.

The Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer and the Sonuus Wahoo spring to mind. Had the former, currently own the latter and it's a keeper!

I was mostly interested in other multi-effect boxes. I'm wondering if that's something on the cusp of happening, with the number of single effect setups like this we're seeing.

All of our programmable products employ analog circuits that are digitally controlled.

I found another one, Hong Kong made. Shipped with 10 plug in modules and 3 built ins for $700 isn't too bad.

Carvin had their Frank Gambale Tone Navigator a few years back. Digitally controlled analog preamp with a digital modulation/reverb/delay effects section.
