so i'm chorus, which one is better for bass?
the mix knob is sort of like a Blend option, right?
while the Deep switch helps maintain the bass frequencies |

The Analogman Mini-Chorus with the fixed deep and the mix knob is the one to get for bass. The form factor alone makes it worthwhile over the larger one.

With that said, mine had a fixed depth setting and I wished that I was able to hear what the normal setting sounded like as well. I'm sure it would have been set it and forget it once I did though...so I suppose the mix would be more useful in the long run.

I like the varying sounds the three deep switch positions give you access too, and by turning down the depth you can already make the pedal quite "subtle" if you are looking for just a little added depth.
Blend knobs have proven nice in the past for pedals that suck up too much of your initial signal, but the Analogman chorus in particular handles bass so well that it isn't offending to the ears like some cheaper pedals bottom.

| | I'm Really a Drummer | | Join Date: Jan 2011 Location: Rock City, TN | | | I've got the Mini Chorus with fixed deep setting and the external blend control. I'm not much of a knob twiddler, so having one chorus character that works well on bass is fine with me.
Honestly, I'd be happy with the pedal even if it didn't have the blend knob, but it's a nice option to have. I find that I usually set the chorus on shallow & fast-ish or deep & slow. With the depth knob cranked up, I might blend in a little more of the dry signal. But, most of the time I keep it pretty subtle. Bear in mind, though, I play a P-Bass with flats into an Ampeg B100R with maybe a little OD, so I'm not going for a super chorusey Duff McKagan tone, either. YMMV. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
