OK, here is the story:
I got into a bit of debt just before the summer (not GAS related...) and so I put my effects buying on hold for a bit. Now the end of my problems are in sight and I am starting to think about continuing with my board. Things changed for me over the summer, and now I am much clearer about what I want. One of those things is an analogue delay, mainly for the ability to send everything crazy when I mess with the delay time knob.
I did a search, but couldn't see a thread listing analogue delay pedals, so can people throw either pedal suggestions or links to other delay threads at me?
I don't want anything complicated - I already have that in the EHXSMMWH, so I just want something fairly simple. The only feature I will specify is that I need to be able to make it go crazy with the delay time knob.

I like old stuff; I have an Ibanez UE-405 rack multi w/among others, an analog delay w/the guts of an AD-9, IIRC. AWESOME warmth, real-time tweakability, fully wet blend=no dry signal- an odd feature, perhaps but something to consider.
Old DOD stuff often goes for less than $50 and also sounds sweet. The digital-but-it-doesn't-know-it Ibanez EM-5 is no longer a sleeper(I bought one for $20 last summer; they now go for over $150 on greedy-bay )but if you find one at a decent price I recommend it; it self-oscillates & has 3 internal trimpots to make it do weird things if that's what you like.
Lastly, there are some new pedals w/the word *analog* or *analog delay* in their name, but are completely digital(Artec, for one ).

Even though it's not true bypass, the Ibanez Analog Delay (AD-7) or the Maxon Analog Delay will suffice, although there's a large difference in price b/w the two. They are both the same color (purplish/maroonish/black raspberryish) as well as the same size. Both have wet and dry settings.
If you're into building pedals, the www.generalguitargadgets.com delay (PT80) is a replica of the Ibanez Analog Delay, but on a digital circuit. It swirls a bit more than the original, but I like it better. It also allows more cool feedback (repeats) control! |

On the last page, when the pick is made, the Maxon is chosen. There's mention of "no annoying clock noise" w/ it. What if we like the annoying clock noise?! hahaha |
