Angled power adapter for EBS Valvedrive?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone have any suggestions for a power adapted with an angled power jack that will work with the EBS Valvedrive?

The Valvedrive takes 12v AC, 500ma.

The stock power cable has a straight power jack that inserts into the Valvedrive. When I put it onto my Powertrain Mini I have to bend the cord almost 90 degrees. I'm concerned that over time this is going to damage that cord to a point of failure at the worst time.

Of course EBS warns not to use any adapter but theirs... but there's got to be an option that's more like the small angled power jacks for most pedals or on a OneSpot.

Suggestions?

I use the TREX Fuel Tank's 12v AC outlet to power my Valve Drive. It works great, powers all of my other pedals (except the Mu-Tron) and you can use any angled or straight standard (Boss-type) power cable.

Hmm, fuel tank classic would work, but it's pretty big to strap to my PedalTrain Mini. 10 outlets is kind of overkill for a mini also.

I guess this would be a low cost backup I could keep around in my bag just in case.

The end isn't angled, but it's shorter than the stock EBS one.

BBE Supa Charger can support 12v via dip switches but not AC, and only 200ma.

If your handy with a soldering iron, theres no reason you couldn't use your current power supply. Cut off the straight tip & attach an angled tip in it's place.

I see you are her in Nashvegas! Drop in at Tour Supply (Soundcheck rehearsal studios) & I'm sure Randy or one of the guys will help you out! http://www.toursupply.com/nash.htm

I never thought I would use all 10 taps, but then it happened!

It is a bit of overkill for a mini- obviously the solution is a bigger pedal board w/ more pedals!

That tip doesn't look right to me.... Not sure, but it doesn't appear to be a standard boss-type.

The straight tipped power supply for the Valve Drive is my only complaint. I have a PT-2, and it does take up exra board space. I like the "put your own tip on the supplied power source" option, mentioned above. Keeps everything copasetic.

I sent an email to EBS through their website and got a prompt call from Mike from New Jersey. Very helpful.

He also suggested taking it to Tour Supply here in Nashville to get an angled jack put onto it that way I'd at least be using their adapter which they suggested.

I think I'll definitely go that way before I start gigging the pedaltrain again.
