so latley ive been looking for a new octave pedal besides the one oct. down on my whammy pedal. it just doesnt do the trick for me anymore. ive heard alot about the boss OC-2 and OC-3, and the electro-harmonix octave multiplexer. i plan to try both out but id like to hear from the people who've used either one and what some of the pros and cons are to each.

THANKS

I'm happy to say I can't give you much in the way of comparisons - Of all the effects I had to spend ages trying many different pedals until I FINALLY found what I wanted, Octave was the only one that I listened to clips online, found a great deal on an OLD Boss OC-2 Octaver, and it was exactly the sound I wanted.....FIRST TRY!!!!!

PS - The Aguilar Octamizer and the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe both seem like great pedals, too, but I'm totally happy with mine, so I never tried them.

There are so many choices and they all offer such different sounds and responses that it's hard to say what's best.

Boss OC2 is the classic for that synthy girthy analogy thing.

Digitech BSW has a nice responding octaver (& more) but ultimately didn't love it, a bit on the modern digital side.

Foxx Roxx Octron was a bit too gritty for me sounded great on guitar

EHX Octave Multiplexer is the gnarliest nastiest of the bunch but is quite glitchy but that is part of it's charm.

MXR BOD was a bit 'cold' to my ear

Since downsizing the pedal board I am using the octave on the Zoom B2.1u so I am getting to like it quite a bit. I have to say that some of my favorite octave effects are on the old Digitech BP8 wonderfully warm phat and juicy.
