Hi. Sorry if this has been covered but I DID search it. What type of sound is roger waters using on another brick in the wall part 2? I'm not sure if its echo, chorus, or delay. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

IIRC, he's not using any effect at all... I'm not sure what you're hearing.

Give me a few minutes... I'm going to listen to the song again.

Okay, so I listened to the whole song... no effects on the bass whatsoever. 100% P-Bass.

I think bigbass94 is talking about "The Happiest Days of Our Lives" - the intro to ABITW-II. There is definitely delay there. The rest of the song is without delay; Waters uses a P-bass with flats and a pick, I'd say there is some heavy compression and a slight chorus.

Yeah, the intro track, "Happiest Days of Our Lives", is definitely using delay and a pick. But "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" is clean.

I'm pretty sure Waters always used flats. I'm not a pink floyd expert by any stretch, but I am pretty sure I read that somewhere.

Okay...what the devil is he using on "Young Lust"? Almost sounds like a slow chorus or flange to my tin ear.

No effects, but it's in drop D. You won't get the same sound with a 5 IMHO.

The drop D really gives a special sound to the open D.

Can't say I'm hearing any fx on the bass, but there's a lot of phase and chorus going on in the guitar tracks that might be deceiving that tin ear of yours! Top track though.

Roger Uses flats but they are roto flats so they Have a lot of high end attack for flats.

We cover this song...all 3 parts, but rock it out a little more, almost like korns cover. I play all three parts clean and in drop D and let the guitarist use all the effects, mostly delay.
