I have a Ric, I have an Ampeg SVT-4 Pro and I have a Marshall Guv'nor effects pedal.
Of course if you run the Guv'nor directly in line, it sounds cool but the low end is muddied up and doesn't sound that great.
The Ampeg has a built in crossover and has the ability to split the signal and run it into two different cabinets.
My question is: would you guys think it'd be worth it to split the signal, send the upper frequencies to the Marshall Guv'nor in the effects loop (and what would be needed for the low frequencies... a jumper cable?), run the low frequencies to my Ampeg 810 cabinet and the high frequencies to my GK 2x10 cabinet?
I'm asking just in case somebody has done this before. I understand Chris Squire doesn't even split his signal anymore but just uses mostly his neck pickup and then splits the signal from there...
Thanks!
