Another Distorion Thread

Sign in to disble this ad
So I asked about this earlier, in a sense, but I idolize DFA 1979 and have realized Keeler's way of distortion just isn't gonna happen.
So what pedals do you recommend for that awesome fuzz/distortion I was thinking the MXR M182 Grande Bass Fuzz or maybe the Big Muff. both have great reviews but will they get me that sound.
Thanks.

Search 'Polish Love' in here and find the Polish Love/Bogdan Helter Skelter thread. Its a handmade overdrive based upon the Way Huge Red Llama. But something tells me its not going to be intense enough to get JFK's tone.

whoa, from what i found its a giant board, that seems a little unnecessary. I was kinda hoping on a single pedal.

Ok so ive checked this out and ive decided its cool but not worth the international hassle so unless someone in the US is selling one, im not to big on it. seems like there could be something made mainstream to substitute. i just dont know what, thats where this thread comes in.

I'm currently checking out the 3Xfx Fatman. I dig the distortion and it has fuzz as well.

The website is www.3xfx.com. Also, you can go to www.bassfuzz.com and check out Grygrx's clip of the pedal.

As for the U.S. made part, Justin makes these in Texas I think. Can't get more U.S.A. than that.

Big Muff is too smooth. Try a DOD 250, I think it gets in that zone.

Can someone send me some DOD 250 samples with a bass. For the life of me i can't find them. Only with a guitar and its not impressive but i decided i won't count it out till i hear it with a bass.

That makes no sense. You pay the dude, he ships it, you receive the item. No different than a domestic sale, except that Bogdan uses much prettier stamps.

You should listen to all the effects samples via the link up top that says Wiki. Not that I know dick about Death From Above 1979, but that dude seems more content rocking out than being too picky about his tone. Find one you like the sound of, crank it up, have fun, repeat.

He cranks several solid-state amps up to absolute max.

Plus a stereo chorus which outputs to both of his amps! And he never turns it off!

If there were something mainstream out there people wouldn't be clamoring for this Polish import so much.

Curious though, you say you found a guy locally who might have one for sale? Are you sure it's the Polish Love? There aren't but a handful of them in circulation and we've tried to keep track of the owners. Is it someone from TB?
