Another "I Love VT Bass" thread!

Just bought one used at my local GC yesterday for $100 in perfect condition. Let's just say I LOVE this thing... Amazing tone shaper. Very flexible.

This one's probably going to be one of those always on pedals. Might even replace my MXR M80 for many gigs. Deep fat to wide open SVT overdriven tone.

Man I'm just amazed. Slightest adjustments make so much change.

that is because it has so much range that the controls have to be that way. it gets easier to control it as you get used to it.

Now my only dilemma is to use my old Rat or the VT.

Use them both! I've found that they work really well together.

the VT is honestly more than a pedal of the future.

once a week i go to a rehearsal at an hourly space, with a full SVT/8x10" rig. the amps i own are all markbass, and im into the clean sound, but obviously have fun with tubes when they're around. i've owned a VT for a pretty long time now, and was accustomed to that being "the tube sound." i was SO let down when i brought just my bass to the hourly space, and plugged into the 8x10 / SVT thing. now i bring my markbass head, and when i need the tubey thing, use the VT, and it sounds significantly nicer than the real tube head.

it's really an amazing pedal i couldent be without.

I actually did for the first time earlier tonight!!

VT set for a clean SVT tone adds a nice warmth to the Rat. I can't really turn it up to fully hear it though, since it's late. I also had to cut some of the lows for practice, but overall it was a fun experiment.
