Lightbulb Another IKEA Pedalboard? $2.49?

Sign in to disble this ad
I like the IKEA pedalboard by Armchair Bronco, but while paging through the latest IKEA circular to arrive in my mailbox I came across this gem, which seems suspiciously like it might be a pre-made IKEA pedalboard for $2.49?!!

Seems too good to be true. Not sure if it'll be stiff enough, but if it's a flexy flyer it could be reinforced with a couple bucks worth of hardware and 1"x1" and still be cheaper than dirt.

Hmmm...

It doesn't look like something I'd trust. Stick with the Gorm shelves.

i´m soon going for the brilliant Gorm solution, maybe i´ll take the biggest board and paint it black or orange. All my stompboxes won´t fit on it, good time to sort some of them out and keep only the best.

I built a Gorm pedalboard and absolutley love it. It even had space for a home built power supply to be mounted underneath it

On the other hand, it might be useful for tilting those speakers so that you aren't directing all your sound to your knees.

I wouldn't trust that to be stomped on or to support a speaker. It's designed for a five-pound laptop, not a 30+ pound bass cab.

On a side note, GORMs aren't available online and my closest Ikea is 2+ hours away

it's made out of polystyrene, so I am skeptical if it can take a beating

I made a board for about $6 (excluding a drill and power saw that I already owned). Hit up a Lowes/Home Depot and they'll even pre-cut it for you if you don't have the tools.
