another OD

hi guys ..
there's lots and lots of recommendations and great reviews on many other bass OD .. just that anyone has a nomination for one that is in par with the BJF Blueberry? Since it went off production, I am looking for similar alternative with that in mind, ... I have tried Hematoma, MultiDrive and they are fine just thought of pairing it with a Blueberry or something in par ..

thanks

The Blueberry is still "in production", he just makes a few at a time and sells them through a couple of European websites.

The Dredgetone Angler is a hot competitor, but is harder to find than the Blueberry. It was discontinued for a long time, but he is supposedly making a new batch as we speak.

The OLC Flipster (a DIY kit) is, based on the soundclips I've heard, the other best bet. I have one built and in the debugging/troubleshooting stage, so I'll report when I'm done; but read the Flipster threads, there are soundclips and a lot of discussion.

"DIY kit" = you build it. There have been some pre-built ones, and there may be again in the future, but the guy Mark said he was not into doing pre-built ones right now.

Also, I'll bet you almost anything that the Dredgetone you saw for sale was NOT an Angler, but instead a one-off EQ/boost that has been floating around Ebay for a while.

You can still get a Blue Berry, just have to ask for one. Then, wait. A long time.

If you can't wait, get an old tube amp and crank it. It's amazing how similar they sound, although I prefer the portability/reliability/volumecontrol of my Blue Berry. On occasion I miss my Sunn head though.

Still waiting for the next batch of Anglers to surface...

I'm quite sure come Nov 1st that 'pre built' pedals are a go. I recently got mine back from the "James" mod (reduced total gain)... it's a cool pedal for sure.

here is my clip prior to the mod

I am guessing that the ones currently on the site are after the "James" mod?
