Any Micro Bass Synth users out there?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,

I have been doing a lot of searching on the Electro Harmonix Micro Bass Synth pedal (the new 'XO'? model) and have some questions I would be very grateful if someone could answer.

1) It says that you must use the 200ma supplied wall wart power supply and not daisy chain it. Can I use my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power Plus 2 instead? I imagine one of the Line6 power outputs might be enough to run it?

2) I read that the true bypass isn't very good, but it wasn't clear if this was a review regarding the older model that used a 24v mains power supply-can anyone confirm this new model doesn't tone suck when bypassed pleased?

3) Is the octave below sound quite stable in its tracking? I ideally want this pedal to substitute a separate MXR bass octave pedal if possible.

Many thanks for any input/advice you can give me here, as I don't want to drop a lot of coin on something I can't try beforehand only to discover it somewhat lacking.

1. Voodoo Lab will work.

2. The bypass is improved from the original and is fine.

3. It's an analog octave down, so it should track the same as your MXR (down to A).

Many thanks guys for the helpful replies!

I can now see this pedal in my not too distant future (I hope!).
