Any Opinions on the Boss ME-20B?

Hello Everybody-

I am a recent convert to the bass from guitar, and I'm interested in some effects to go along with my new Acoustic B200 amp.
This is the pedal I'm interested in:

I did a search, but didn't really find anything on this multi-pedal. Don't crucify me if I missed it, please.
I am into all sorts of music, including, Tool, Yes, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, and lots of Frank Zappa, to name a few.
I'm just looking for something to goof around with, and it seems like this one has lots to offer.
Does anyone have one and have comments?
BTW, I'm a REAL convert to the bass, feeling like I have finally found my instrument!
Glad I found the forum, too.
Thanks, and happy playing.

Here are a few photos of my gear:

The Man-Cave

The Sunburst Fender Family

I too am a convert of the same. I still enjoy guitar but my desire for the bottom end has overpowered. It only makes sense cuz I dig them girls with thick bottom end as well.

So to comment on the ME 20B, I recently purchased and returned one in the course of a few days. The idea behind it with the control given over each sound is simply awesome. However, the overall quality of the sounds it produced was lacking. Tracking in the octaver was poor. The distortion and OD sounds were ok. Synth sounds were cool but being digital it was missing warmth and essence. Overall I didnt like it but it helped me to decide what types of effects I would like to use in my rig.

I perform in a metal band...so I'm very critical about HOW my sounds...sound. I compare this board to Line 6 products. They have a good IDEA going with the product. It sounds cool when you're spanking all by your lonesome but when it comes to the live mix, quality tone is key. It just doesn't produce. Maybe in the studio setting it would be better suited but I'm not willing to give it that chance. I'm satisfied with my Aphex Optical compressor and Aural Exciter for now. I run them between my Fretless MIA Fender J-Bass thru an american Ampeg SVT CL over a Traynor 8X8 and 2 SWR Son of Bertha 15" cabs. They also make my Ibanez SR500 sound powerful. The TONE is crushing and allows me to be heard with our guitarist who blasts a suped up Schecter Baritone thru a Fender "EVIL" Twin and Mesa 4X12.
