Anybody else disappointed with the TC Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner?

Finding it much more difficult to use than a standard Boss or Korg pedal - especially with bass.

Sounded like a great idea but the execution doesn't seem all that good.

How do others feel about it? Really think I will return it with the 30 days I have to do so.

I'm confused. It does exactly what any other tuner pedal does for me. You don't have to use the polyphonic mode if it bothers you--even with that off, I've found it to have a higher quality display, less tone-sucking, and more accuracy than the other pdeals.

What pedals did you compare it to? Thanks.

Exactly what sort of issues are you having with it? I've had mine for a a weekish and it's great. Compared it to a Korg Pitchblack and the PolyTune was just a bit slower. Nothing major though. They both beat the TU-3 pretty squarely from the demoes I've seen too. The polyphonic tuning mode is pretty cool and works just as described. The only "issue" I've had is that I have to watch out for sympathetic vibrations when I'm tuning so it doesn't go into polyphonic mode. I hesitate to call it an issue because it's something I've done while tuning anyway.

Just checking but you do have it set to bass mode right?

Yes. On bass..

Issues..

- Speed of tuning..slowish
- Handling non-traditional tunings
- Pol tuning working sometimes, not working others. Inconsistent.

I'm always tuned standard so maybe the non-standard tuning is what's tripping it up? If you return it maybe give the Hardwire HT-6 (Hardwire HT -6 Polyphonic Tuner - YouTube) a whirl? It looks to be a direct competitor with the PolyTune but with customizable and downloadable tuning profiles for folks using non-standard tunings. I almost wish I'd gotten one myself but the price difference was a bit much for me.

I just received mine but I found it quicker and easy to use. I'd been using the same tuner for about 20 years so I'm not familiar with the competition, but so far I'm quite happy.
