Anybody else like this? (Larry Graham content!!)

I watched this, and for the life of me I wanted that pedal soooo bad. Then I realized Roland made it and dialed that in on my GT-6B (it was useful after all!!)

Anybody else liking that effect? My bandmates are gonna hate it when I unleash that on them next practice session

it adds this brutally colorful sound to the bass, idk how well it would sound with a guitar though lol

Is there actually a jet phase preset on the GT-6B? Because if there is, I want samples!!

Well it was probably designed for guitar - not too many bass-oriented effects back in the day. Check out Ernie Isley's lead on "Who's that Lady" for an example of how SWEET the Jet Phase could get on geetar.

Enough shortaxe for today. Back to the βΘИΞКЯŲŜĦÏИĞ®!

Is anyone familiar with the live version of "Shinin' On" by Grand Funk Railroad off the album "Caught in the Act"? The guitar intro is kind of an echoey thing that has a jet sound as it trails off. The only thing I was able to get that exact sound with is the Jet Phase. Anyone have any ideas for getting it elsewhere?

No, i just saw that it was basically a fuzz/phaser pedal made by roland and so i fiddled around with it a bit and got something close but far from exact.

I actually like the tone better this way, but I use the Metal Zone setting for distortion, and the 4 Stage phaser with low rate and resonance and a lot of depth. The metal zone is set with some slight bass and treble boosts and the drive at about 50...I also take out all the dry signal as well. It's not exactly the same, but with my Squier VM J-bass it still sounds pretty sick

Well thanks anyway. I guess I'll try to find a way to make my current distortion and phasing run parallel or something. But seeing this again, I GAS for a jet phase once more...

haha the jet phase.

whats not to love..

i was after that sound for a while, and a real jet phase is pretty tuff to get your hands on. settled with the red witch moon phaser, and ive been happily phasing ever since..

Well there are a lot of cool phasers, but I don't see any with onboard dirt, which is what it would take to approximate the jet phase.

Anybody know a pedalboard schem to run 2 effects parallel instead of series? Would I need an amp with 2 effect loops or would that even work?

I had a Jet Phaser. Sold it on when I realised there was too much low end loss to use live. It's a very cool effect though, and sometimes I wish I just kept it!

Hasn't somebody every tried to clone it? Ought to be a fairly simple circuit...
