As a confirmed filter addict, I am looking forward to any comments or reviews of The new Electro Harmonix Talking Machine. I've seen the little demo on their website, but I'm sure you know that what sounds good with guitar.........
I can't demo it myself because I've retired out side the USA (way outside!), but I might buy one, have it shipped here and pay 40% import duty if it really sounds great. |

but for over $217.50, its not cheap for an EHX effect,
The TWA Little Dipper
may be the same thing, smaller,
with a built in noise gate, better build quality & enclosure..
and the cool blinking constellation LED's.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgOCT...e_gdata_player

It seems to have a ton of filter options. In addition, one can press down a knob to turn the existing knobs into controls for the built-in distortion.
I think the Talking Machine will be a tweaker's dream.

I got one of the first Talking Machines in the UK, and I'm really pleased with it.
Some of the factory presets are great, particularly the auto-wah sound at 7. Slow the rate down and you have a nice phaser sound.
It is a pedal for tweaking. Getting a basic wah sound takes some finding but one (at least) is there.
I'm finding that being able to add some fuzz is very handy and some of my presets are in pairs with the second of each being a fuzzy version of the first.
Here's the best bit; I've got an OC-2 in the effects loop. Hence my love for this pedal!
For example I'm using the Bassballs, which sounds great, and I have that mixed with the OC-2 and then a 2nd fuzzed version, and both blended with my clean sound. Both sound HUGE.
There are lots of sounds in this pedal and the effects loop is a brilliant idea. I've had it for 3 weeks and I'm sure there are a load more sounds in there.
Any questions, just ask.
