Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All,
I'm a lucky user of the DB750 since some days and I enjoy it a lot. One of the thing I noticed is that while my EBS Multicomp was a nice addition to the LMII I was using, it doesn't really provide much of a benefit, except a higher input signal, into my DB750.
If any of you use this combination, would you please share your expeirences and favorite setting of the two used together?
Thank you as always !
Paolo

I like a lot the sound of the DB750, I had a EBS Multicomp (compressor/limiter) and I'm trying it with the DB750. While before the Multicomp seemed to improve the sound of my amp, now with DB750 I don't see a real improvement. If anybody using this combination (Multicomp+DB750) , it'd be great what settings you use, to try them out myself...
THank you, Paolo

| | | | paolo, I have EBS multicomp - and while it's usefull, say, in studio, or with "not so great amps" I don't think it will add any good to nice warm tube sound of Aguilar amp. better leave it or sell it!!! mine is for sale, anyway!

I opened this thread because I thought I was probably not doing somethig right... but at the moment, I prefer the DB750 w/o the Multicomp....

It's not an extreme enough "effect" to be very noticeable in that context, whereas it makes perfect sense in front of a cleaner, drier, not-noticeably-compressed amp.
If you still want more compression than the DB750 has inherently, then I'd look to a different compressor with a higher ratio available. If you still want more fatness or other coloration than the DB750 has inherently, then I'd look to a more heavily-colored "effect" pedal. |

I usually use the "normal" switch with COMP/LIMIT and GAIN both set at 9 o'clock (more or less). It helps a lot to cut through, especially if I'm playing on a crappy sounding stage. I don't use the pedal as an audible effect rather just to get a bit more punch and to tighten it up. Works great for me.
For slapping, I just change the switch to "MB", that's it. |

The DB has so much warmth to it..that works just fine for me. I can imagine that the "tube" position may be useful for a solid state amp though. I'm thinking about a second and smaller amp...the LMII comes to mind. That might be a good match with the Multicomp in "tube" position. |
