Yeah, I've got one and to be honest I don't care for it. You can invert the other kind so they stack one on top of the other but with this one, if you have outlets on the side of it it blocks those. Plus you have that lump in the cord which isn't easy to route.

Whack. I can't ever think of a time when I've wished for a wall wart that would allow me to stack one above the other. But I always need to stack them next to each other.

I'm guessing it's switch mode too, given the size. Shudder...

BTW, would it be ok to leave it plugged in to a wall socket?

I don't see why not. What's your concern?

The only issue is to do with leaving stuff switched on permanently - that will reduce its lifespan. Wall warts sometimes run pretty hot if left on all the time, but if this is a switch mode it should be more efficient and hence cooler.

It's not a switch mode, at least not the one I have. You plug it in and the LED lights up indicating it's powered up. Here's a larger picture of it:

Big pic

Another thing I don't like about it, since I'm using it on a pedal board, is the 10 foot cord. That's a ridiculous amount of excess wire. If it was one pedal being plugged into the wall, okay, but on a pedal board it's waaaaaaay too much.

What is the maximum current draw on it? As in, could you daisy chain it like a one-spot?

Could you elaborate on the switch mode? Is it similar to digital switching power amps? Are they supposed to be noisier?

Aside from running hot, wall warts are drawing power every second they are plugged in. So you are adding to your utility bill if you leave wall warts plugged in all the time. At least that's true of the traditional ones, I haven't investigated the switchmode ones in that regard.

What I do is put all of my wall warts on a power strip with its own switch, and switch the strip off when I'm done, so the power to the wall warts is cut off.
