Anyone else using Digitech RP500 or RP1000?

I've used it for a few rehearsals and performances on the bass, and used it before that for most of 2009 on electric guitar. I'm new to bass, but FWIW, I thought the RP1000 worked great on bass. I used the Digitech Artist Clean for the amp model and the "DigiSpeaker" setting for the cab model.

*Unfortunately* my RP went dead, and Digitech is going to replace it for little cost to me. My tech says using the bass on it did not cause the problem, BTW.

Anyway, I went ahead and bought a SansAmp Bass Driver DI while the RP1000 has been in the shop. Again, I haven't played bass long, but to my ears, the RP1000 was at least as good. The SansAmp has some noticeable hiss. Not horrible, but it's there. None of that with the Digitech RP. I might just return the SansAmp once the RP gets back from the shop.

So... anyone else using the RP1000, or similar Digitech RP, with their bass?

Cheers,
-- Joe

I have a BP80.
It's a big part of my tone.

Thx for the reply. Are you using anything else with the BP80?

I use the bp200. I've used it for the better part of 5 years, and has taken alot of abuse. It has some good sounds on it.

I use an RP 200. I actually use it more for bass than I ever did on guitar. The quality of the sounds vary, but some of them I like.

My setup is as follows:

Bass > Boss GE7 > BP80 > 2nd Boss GE7 > Amp

The two GE7s stay on at all times, but they were originally purchased for shaping distortion sounds, since distortion responds to eq quite differently depending on if it is used before or after.

So I used two for maximum control.

I know there are better eqs one can use, but I wasn't sure if this was gonna work as well as I had hoped.

It turns out it works much better than I had imagined.

I use a RPx400 for home recording. Very Flexible but tricky to learn.

Cool, thanks for the info. FYI, I returned a SansAmp Bass DI. Compared to the RP1000, there was a lot more hiss with the SansAmp.
