anyone ever fry a wall wart ?

not even sure the proper nomenclature...power adapter, wall wart, transformer.....you know what I mean...

I inadvertantly switched adapters between a mini-pedalboard source and a Fostex Digital recorder.......one was plugged into a Power Squid, and the other was plugged into my SKB powered pedal board.

I smelled a "burning" then pop goes the circuit breaker on the SKB board. Now neither power adapter works.

the Fostex is an output 12V and the mini-pedal board one is output 9 V

anyone else ever have this happen ? I am afraid to check if the Fostex Digi recorder fried ---can test with batteries.

Oh it happens often enough, just nobody wants to fess up.

I've blown two or three adapters over the years. You just have to be very careful and well-informed about exactly what power supply is suitable for what device.

thanks B, I've had massive FX for the past 5 years, and never made that stupid mistake. I guess I have to go to Rad Shack and get a generic one to replace the fried ones...
