Ever wished that you could swap your delay or distortion pedal closer to you without having to compromise the signal chain?

anyways i can go about doing it?

just get a another, cheaper version of whatever you want to use. that way you won't have to swap anything and have more debt!

that or just get an Line 6 M9. you can order your pedals any way you want!

I would say the anwser may be to make your own patch cables.

I'm slightly confused.... are you talking about physically moving and switching pedals closer to your feet or the actual order of them in the signal chain? Or both?

This.

Solder them yourself or get the solderless kits from George L or Lava.
That way you can arrange your pedals the way you like them and make cables to whatever lenght you need them to be.

Problem solved.

When I had a ton of pedals, the answer was to have a pedalboard patch kit where you cut and made your own cables. I'd recommend George L's personally.

Here is an example of what I did with my board some years back to be able to get everything to fit:

That horrendous looking tangle of wires underneath was due to very long cable runs because I needed specific pedals either near my feet, or because of the way that the board fit together.
Additionally, This let me have a custom signal chain without sacrificing space with the usually pitifully too short pre-made patch cables.

I got rid of this setup a long time ago, but still use the George L's on my nice light little mini board.

I'm not a "puzzle person" but This puzzle is the one I look forward too! Usually it means I've got a new pedal that's better than something I had. My attitude is the there IS some way to solve the puzzle if I work at it enough, maybe change a "rule" I had. (Like the Xotic BB Preamp, at a recording session where I used Just the pedals I'd need for That certain song, and it recorded Great after my envelope using less drive than usual. Wanting to keep that function changed things, and it was unexpected. Overdrives are supposed to be early in the chain so using the BB with less drive changed that.
