As the title suggests really...
I recently moved from the Whammy IV to the Whammy DT. It tracks better, it true bypass BUT still sucks loads and loads of treble from your signal when its activated.
I know lots of people modded the IV to be true bypass, which is obviously not an issue with my Whammy DT, but I was wondering if anyone had found a way to bypass the low pass filter int he circuit (or what ever causes the drop in top end). I don't notice a drop on a clean bass tone, but as I run my whammy after dirt for more synthesised tone (doesn't work for me at all before dirt), engaging the effect in heel position basically removes all the sparkle and harmonics that the distortions add - It sounds like I'm turning my tweeter off!
Anyone found a fix or mod?
I emailed Digitech, explaining that I needed to run it after dirt for it to do what I wanted, their answer was -
"Hi, The signal loss is most likely due to the position of the pedal in your signal chain. The only effects that you would want to run before the Whammy would be compression and wah. Everything else should occur after the whammy, as when it has an effected input signal, it ends up shifting the sound artifacts of the effect going into it, along with the instrument signal, which changes the tone more than it would if it was receiving a clean, unaffected signal. I hope this helps."
- Unfortunately, no, it does not help
