If so they are very well built.

Exar manufactures the boxes for Jacques's production pedals but not the electronics. |

Honestly, if you took these and put them in Hammond enclosures with fancy graphics people would pay 2 x for them. They're great sounding boxes.

I got the bass compressor yesterday, will post review soon of course, but now I have a hankering to try some of their other pedals. They have a bass distortion, bass chorus, and bass flanger; and they have an octaver, envelope filter, and multi-wah that look like they could be groovy on bass. In fact searching on those individual effects yields plenty of scattered posts about them one at a time, but I think it would be good to have Exar info consolidated here for easy reference. So if you have an Exar pedal, or have spent significant time with one, please post your thoughts here. FWIW they are now available on Ebay sold directly by Exar, and the prices are quite reasonable, and shipping from Poland to Portland was fast, no hassle. |

Exar contacted me about possibly becoming their US sales representative, and I said I was interested. We have started preliminary negotiations--so it's far from a done deal at this point, but a very interesting possibility for the near future. |

- very noticeable volume drop
- hard to find good settings with my active bass
- the foot-switch reacts to easy
- the rubber surface from that switch fell off after a week or so
So in my view: expensive, bad sound, not so good quality. The PigNose soon to be replaced with the 3Leaf Groove Regulator |
