Obviously all the focus is on the SFT at the moment, and for good reason, I haven't tried it but it seems excellent.
I am however quite content in my bass overdrive needs, but not so much with my guitar playing.
So I've order a DLS for my guitary attempts and will undoubtadly have a bash about on it with bass to for fun.
Anyone else had a shot? Anyone interested in clips?
I don't need it to sound good but you never know, alot of my favourite drive pedals are guitar ones afterall.

Other pedals have been called amp-like, but I really think the DLS takes this concept to another level. It has a very organic feel that makes you want to keep the pedal on. It's warm and gritty, yet can be cleaner and sparkly just by fiddling your volume knobs or varying your picking attack. The DLS also stacks well with just about everything. I run a Sunface NTK -> Phantom Overdrive -> DLS -> Crunchbox or Dirty Bomb (still trying to decide).
The DLS is my first Catalinbread pedal and has magnified my SFT GAS about 10 fold! Especially since the VT Bass I ordered from SamAsh has been on back order for over a month, and Catalinbread is a hometown builder. |

I actually have found myself in a similar boat to you, fender amp but wanting the occassional marshall tone. Lemme know how the tech 21 goes if you do get it.

Nice overdrive tone, imparting a marshall character with good touch sensitivity but might not have as much bass as I'd like?

I had one for a stint, and I kinda dug it. Not too much low end loss until you crank up the tone knob. For what it's advertised for, it's pretty solid. My only giff with it (along with the other Catalinbreads I've played) is that there's SO much volume on tap that I don't know what to do with. I guess if I was driving a tube amp it'd be pretty sweet..
