Anyone have the Ibanez TS9B?

Does anyone have the Ibanez TS9B pedal? If you have it or have tried it, what do you think? I'm curious on the "settings" you use for what sound. I've looked for some audio videos for some ideas but there's not much out there. Thanks.

I have one and I like it!
Using in a blues and some rock bands for a simple setup let say: -when I am not using "effects" and it's on my PT Nano.
Mainly using for some light grit/dirt and sounds pretty good with tube amps, even if just the preamp has tubes, like the GK MB Fusion, but could go really gritty over the top too, with a P bass sounds pretty Billy Sheehanish - that is what I am after with the TS9B anyway.
I heard people say:- it does not sound good with SS amp.
I had and have couple of other overdrive/distortion pedals and sound was all great, but all was different. It depends what tone you have in mind to get. I am also using a VT Bass as well, but my second board for no amp/headphones rehearsals with a technical rock group and the VT mainly for amp simulation and at live show the VT turns into a "tube"drive and for same thing as the TS9B on the nano I am using an Xotic BB Bass preamp for the "scream" .
Hope this helps, but you have to try out yourself.
I think there is couple YouTube sample out there and some very similar sounding as in real live, but not sure if those guys there used a tube preamp or amp with it. Better to use with it otherwise, where is the tube to scream?
A quick photo shot for ya!

I did finally find a thread about the TS9B. I read where it is made for tube amps, that it sounds better with tube amps, it isn't for SS amps, It sounds okay with SS amps. I don't know what to go by...lol. I have a Peavey Tour 450 and wondered what the pedal would be like with it.

Only tells you that, if you try out, but I do not think it will sound bad with your amp. Try to catch a used one, could be under $100 and if you do not like it, just sell it. You Won't be loosing much money in this case.
(New around $120)
Oh yeah and it's made in Japan, if that means something to you.
-One thing: it comes with a red LED from factory and barely can see that light when the pedal is on. I always had to double check if it was on or off, even at the dark rehearsal room. I heard others have the same "small" issue with it. Even the guitar version TS9 has that too!
So I went crazy, and made my own modification with the ultra bright "artic-ice" blue LED. I can see now hundred miles away when the pedal is on, Just like some new MXR stuff built with that blue LED.

Nothing relevant to add other than love that little board, just down to the basics with two key effects.

I am using most of the time with a GK MB Fusion, love that tone ether with active, or passive bass and sometimes I am using with a Mesa M9.

The Fusion is a hybrid right? I believe my Peavey is strictly solid state.

Yes, the Fusion has three tubes at it's preamp section, the Mesa M9 has one tube. I only tried the pedal with a Radial JDI trough headphones, so no tubes., kinda SS situation, and was not bad at all, but different than other overdrive pedals, it gives you more mid/hair putting your bass to the front, if you know what I am saying, but you can dial in your tone with it's bass-treble and mix pots.

I got to use one earlier today. You're right...it wasn't like an overdrive/distortion pedal but I like it. I can tell the difference in the sound plus by setting the level I can boost my volume without touching my amp. That was good when playing a "strong" riff such as the "run" in Hey Joe.

I bought the TS9B and think it's fantastic. It wasn't initially the kind of overdrive/distortion I thought it would be, but it has recently become irreplaceable on my board.
I generally keep volume at dry level, mix really low, both EQs at half, and barely turn up the drive. I discovered you get just enough gritty texture while still keeping your clean signal, but also break up some of the muddiness you run into playing through low-end heavy amps like MarkBass.
I am personally not a fan of the high gain settings for this pedal, which is why I use an Xotic BB Bass preamp as a second stage distortion. That thing is a beast.

Resurrecting the thread ---- what IS the red pedal? If I buy it, can I see how far the rabbit-hole goes?

I'm looking into the TS9B - cause I currently use no pedals or effects so I I always just F with the EQ on my bass and amp UGH. --- jblock said those 2 are good essential pedals - so I'll start there I guess
