Looks like they have a B:Assmaster kit. Very tempting for $65...

Yep.

I've made a fuzz face, rangemaster, and 2 WHRL kits.

I fried some germ transistors, and they sent me new ones without question....for free.

Sometimes I check other websites for clearance painted enclosures though.

The brassmaster was my first first build - good one too - but not easy to debug.

Add a volume pot to the build. Fun build!

Weeelll... it's not a B:Assmaster kit, it's a Brassmaster kit--and when the Malekko one came out he took great pains to explain how IHO the commonly-reproduced schemos and kits were inaccurate and not well-done. Whether he's right or wrong, I'd still bet there are notable differences between the B:A and the GGG kit.

The schematic has been fixed and that clone is dead on. I like Ryan says, add a volume output pot and you'll be good to go.

Adding the volume pot to my GGG clone was rcubed's idea! It was a LIFESAVER!

What's the schematic mod for adding the volume pot & where would it go on the box?

Instead the output going to the jack, hook it up to lug 3 of a log pot. Take the output of lug 2 and hook it up to the jack. Lug 1 goes to ground.

I wasn't actually implying the B:Assmaster was better--just different. Though rcubed is saying that is no longer the case.
