Has anybody heard about these or tried em? I found one on evil bay for a good price, but I'm skeptical.

No seriously, I would not buy an ebay item from China with your ex-wife's money.

I double-dare you to buy it and review it, so that all of TalkBass can learn more about this mysterious pedal.

I hear you guys, but you know China is the copycat capital of the world. I'll bet it's based on a popular delay pedal of old. Check out the disclaimer: Please be informed that Virtual Village has a very firm policy of sourcing only genuine products. If you feel any of our products violate your Trademark, Design, or Patent rights please contact us immediately and we will instantly remove any offending listing pending further discussions. Haha, that's great. Still, if you were looking for a delay to put in an old wah pedal (or sewing machine pedal) why the hell not?
Maybe I'll buy it. |

Has a bit of background noise. The switch is mounted directly to the PCB and will crack the board if the switch isn't kept tight.
To sum it up, go for it if you don't have the money for anything better. It's not bad but it's not great either.

It will be interesting to see what it sounds like, guess it's a phase 90 copy since it's orange.

I've played my friend's Belcat branded one of these (using guitar, not bass), and it's a nice, analogy (they're often advertised as analog, but I'm not sure) short delay. The switches are not the juicy stompers they look like, they trigger a much smaller switch on the board. But for the $, not bad. I guess in the US the recommendation would be for an Ibanez DE-7, which could be had for around that much used, has longer delays, is from decent brand etc. But here I could buy 3 Belcat delays for less than 1 DE-7... And I trust Ibanez's lower level pedal switches not a bit (bad, bad experience with soundtank and 10-series pedal switches )
I also own a belcat chorus (for g****r) and it's actually not a bad unit either.
Buying from ebay sellers in China is a different story of course... I'd say from what I've heard, you should do it, so long as you have no desire to see your money or the pedal you bought again.
Steve

Pedal was slightly bigger than I'd expected, but still small enough to feel "convenient".
First impression after plugin it in wasnt that impressive, a bit weak and mellow effect so I opened it up and found two adjustment screws on the circuit board and after tweaking with them, it started to sound nice. Now I quite like it, it's not hysterically phasing instead it's quite smooth and I cant hear any noise or hiss at all.
Most annyoing thing is the blue "mod speed" LED that flashes all the time, even when the pedal is not activated, activation is indicated by another red LED, I might rewire this some rainy day.
For the price I paid, about 35 euros, it's a bargain, and well worth the money.
