Just curious. Might replace my black russian with one becuase of the lack of a 9v input and iv heard a lot of love for the green russians.

First, it's very easy to add a DC jack to a pedal, so you might want to pursue that first unless you really want a different tone or smaller pedal. I hear these people make good clones:

You can also get DIY kits from General Guitar Gadgets that come with diagrams and components to build any of the muff variants including their special GGG Tuned one which is like the Sanford&Sonny Bluebeard.

have you actually tried the ggg one ? I'd love to hear som samples for bass for this one. I need some kind of distortion in my rig. I got a GT10B and a Vt bass. using the VT bass for tone shaping and grit leaves only the distortion from the GT10B - and to be honest it sounds meh!

I don't have any samples to post, but I built the GGG one to green specs and it sounds amazingly close to my Green Sovtek. It had the same character and low end friendliness.

I had it in the classifieds a week ago and may put it back up just because I'm using the sovtek.

It's also super easy to mod your black russian to accept 9v. I did it to a few in this thread

I had some Clips of the GGG Tuned version in THIS thread. Unfortunately Putfile has killed them It is still an interesting read though!

I still own the Blue Beard and I have a Green Sovtek. All of them are great muffs. If I get a chance later today, I'll do a Blue beard Vs Sovtek green clip. That will basically tell you what to expect with a GGG tuned version as the GGG and BB where basically identical.

There are tons, most of which are decent.

But if you can, grab yourself a Supercollider.
