Anyone in NYC know how to fix pedals?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,

Recently I bought a used Moog MF-101 off a TBer and it has an issue. I think it may have been damaged a bit during shipping. I originally thought it was just a dust problem but I realized soon after it wasn't, and I have a temporary solution in place but I want to get it fixed for real.

Basically, the Pole switch is screwy. My roommate said the soldering point is okay and he thinks the switch is just loose. Whenever I have it on Bypass mode, there is no sound coming out. When Bypass is off, sound comes out but not to the full potential. For some reason it's this switch that's causing the problem. My temporary fix is just a piece of paper folded and stuck into the space between the switch and the rest of the pedal. This is keeping the switch from moving around and losing the signal (think of the yellow wire on video games - if it's loose you kind of have to jiggle it around until the video stays on, that's the problem with the switch).

Can anyone help me out or refer me to someone who can?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean - inside the pedal?

You said the switch is loose. There's a nut that you can screw tighter or looser, like if you want to remove the switch.

Try contacting Ziv at www.zivnagari.com

He has fixed and modified many of my pedals and amps before.
I am pretty sure he'll able to solve your problem.

there's no nut on the outside - are you saying there's a nut inside that I have to adjust? if so I'm a bit scared, I don't want to mess up any wires by opening it up

not mine but it looks exactly the same - it's the orange switch on the right. imagine there's a piece of paper jammed in the side of the switch to keep it from moving.

the thing is - it doesn't seem loose, I only knew it was loose because I was messing with stuff to fix the sound and when I pressed hard enough on that switch the sound worked again (I just needed the paper to keep it pressed)

edit: for some reason the image isn't showing up but just google moog mf-101 pictures

You're talking about the rocker switch. Can't help you if we don't see the insides.
