Anyone online still selling the PD7

Sign in to disble this ad
I can't find this pedal for sale online anymore. Discontinued? Superseded by something (undoubtedly more expensive)?

TIA, -ym

You can get them used fairly cheap. I have one, I'm not even really a fan of mine. I'm more looking for a Pork Loin or a Green Rhino or something else for my overdrive/distortion needs.

I think they're replacing it with the Bass Tubescreamer.
It's a shame, it was a great pedal. They sold very well so finding a used one shouldn't be too difficult.

I think these guys might have it

otherwise check out the SM7 has a 2 band EQ like the pd7 and works good for bass if you want a heavy sustaining bass.....
i used it before for bass....i forget how well it cleans up i used it for heavy distortion....

it was designed for guitar...sounds like poo for guitar works great for bass

otherwise good luck with the link maybe give em a call...i loaded one in a cart and it seemed to go threw...might not mean anything depends on the site and how they maintain stock....

what gives ? nobody has the PD7 anywhere...wonder if Ibanez pulled that pedal to try and boost Bass Butt Reamer sales....

Ah, the wonders of the interwebz!

And, although it's not mine and I have no financial interest, you might consider getting one used in the Emporium...

From the 4 links you gave, 2 are out of stock, the others don't say anything about it. Better call them before ordering.

Actually according to the Ibanez site, the whole Tonelok series are discontinued, save for the Wheeping Demon

Ah... one of them definitely said "In Stock" when I went there, and the others were indeterminate.

And, of course, the used one here on TB was hopefully still available....

I was thinking about ordering one of these anyway, so I grabbed one from the links above. I see now that the link I ordered from says out of stock. I am pretty sure it said in stock last night...hopefully it comes through.

I just realized something.

Since I added a unit to my shopping cart on each page (removing it after the test), and thus eliminated quite a few vendors when it came up as unavailable, I wonder if my posting the links led to people buying whatever stock any particular site might have had. I posted a few hours before you, JA, on a lazy Sunday evening here in the US. Anyone who had been interested in getting one for $50, even on the off chance they might find it useful in the long run, could have decided to go for it. (I have enough dirt that it didn't appeal to me, but it took me a little mental wrestling to not buy the really inexpensive one in the classifieds here.)

----

When I'm considering a piece of gear, I've learned to *never* tip my hand. Questions like "I saw this on Craigslist for $20 dollars... is this a good price?" are a great way to bring a piece to everyone's attention.

Hopefully the OP checked in and found one of the units which were available. It would be a shame if he/she asked for the information, raised the profile of the piece, and then was elsewhere and thereby missed out on the benefit of having asked.

If not, well, live and learn....

----

Edit: Ah, NortyFiner confirms my suspicions.

Definitely a shame. The PD7 is WAY better than the bass tubescreamer.

+1
The PD7 is a great pedal, very musical distortion with huge lows.
It can go from dark to extremely bright. It can also do mild overdrive to fuzz. This is a very impressive pedal and somewhat of a unsung hero. In the distortion mode these a little sizzle on the top of the distortion that is just super seductive.

I try to find something that sounds similar in my collection of pedal and it resemble the Green Rhino at times but the Green Rhino has more of a soft clipping character. I can't quite find that tone anywhere, the PD7 is its own thing and what a pedal!

Even though YoMamma, the OP, mostly lurks and only posts infrequently, I see from the profile page that the user has been on TB since making those first two posts on this thread. I have to admit to be mildly curious as to whether a PD7 was scored in response to the requested information... but I may never know.

Here's hoping!
