anyone use a drum brain to make loops?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was thinking about getting a used roland or yamaha drum brain and then setting it up in a sequencer to make drum loops. I have drum loops in acid looper to make some drums but I figured the hardware is better and more versatile.

What is the best drum brain under $500 used for this right now, and what program should I use to sequence it?

Thanks,
Joe

If you mean a normal drum machine, almost all of them have MIDI and can be used as either controllers or slaves when connected to your computer. Also they all come loaded with rhythms, so you don't have to worry about learning to be a drummer. Good drum machines can be had for $150-$250. Alesis is a top seller, I like Roland, nothing wrong with Korg, Yamaha, or even Zoom AFAIK.
