Anyone use a Micropog and a pitch shifter?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I have a micropog that fits me pretty well. I play in two bands, one of which is a pop band akin to the rentals with some shoegaze and the other one is very feedback heavy. With my pickle pie B and my micropog, things are going very well. Now I'm setting my sights on another pedal to expand my sound (I have an EHX freeze, small stone, and black russian big muff to the side currently). I was looking at the boss ps-5 and it seemed pretty rad, but I was wondering if anything would be lost by using the micropog and a pitchshifter. The settings for the micropog hover around dry and octave up all the way with octave down at about 12. Thanks in advance.

POG

Huge fan of the Micro POG, used it for a long while. Tracking is spot on and flaw. I also had the Boss PS-5 for awhile. While the PS-5 was cool, it has TERRIBLE volume output issues, so much so I had to get rid of it. It was so spotty when using different presets. I highly reccomend something else. I don't know if the PS-6 is any different, but I've been very interested in trying one. I sold my PS-5 and Micro POG to buy a pog2 for the added two octaves in both directions. The LP filter is awesome for the sub octave (which on the micro pog could be a little thin... with the LP you can use it like a tone knob to fatten up the effect). Also the attack and detune while get you to NAIL organ tones. I usually use the micro in conjunction with other effects to do this before, now pog2 does it all. I sold my PS-5 to a friend and sold my Micro POG to my guitarist. Even though the micro is right there on his board I miss it terribly.

I'd recommend the pog2 for sure, or even a Digitech Whammy IV. Also I've been researching the EHX Ring Thing, some great octave (2 up, 2 down) effects in there too.
