Hey guys,
I was just wondering because I am currently using a Zoom G7.1ut as my complete bass rig straight into a PA. I am loving it.

I used to use a Yamaha rackmount mfx with a midi foot controller ... It worked really well, I normally really don't like much effects on bass though, mainly just used it for compressor / distortion on a few covers we did, managed a pretty close semblance to Tim C. for "know your enemy"

I have a zoom B1 I use for practicing sometimes plugged into the board

It's not ideal, tonally, but if you're having fun, that's good enough.

Not ideal tonally. I totally see why you could say that, but I am pretty sure tonally this set up is amazing right now. Want to hear what I got going? Well I will tell ya anyways LOL. An Ibanez Btb405, this thing has active pups, and active electronics, into the Zoom, the patch is a Clean roland jazz type amp simulation, cabinet sims on, thats it, well adjustments on the eq as well, I think. This tone is sick, seriously! I have gotten many comments, from some serious tone snobs as well.

Weird huh?

Oh yeah I have the preamp tube of the Zoom set to about 50%....................

I mainly use a B2.1u but there are several sounds on a G1x I use just for bass, the g1x just has a different character, efx voiced differently and the selection of reverbs.

i used to use a boss me-3 with my rig. never could use the distortions and overdrives in it because they cut too much bass, but everything else was fine.
